Two years after the Opera Populaire burned to the ground, it rose again in the form of a bigger and more elaborate opera house. Some of the old employees returned, Mme. Giry, Meg Giry, some of the old ballerinas and cast members among them. But now it filled with new people including new management and patrons. Now married, Christine and Raoul de Chagny are one of the more generous patrons to the Opera Populaire. But Christine is still haunted by her angel, believing that he still resides underneath the Opera. Raoul believes it as well and they walk on the grounds cautiously, never leaving the small area outside his domain. But will they reconnect with the Phantom?
Meanwhile, Erik has wondered around the house on the lake in misery. He survived through the construction of the second Opera Populaire and is now trying to reacquaint himself with the sacred building. He keeps a low profile for now, but he may soon start up the old haunting that terrified a city. Will he once again capture Christine and force her to love him?
Swept up in this plot line are new and old faces that will, unknowingly, create the next tale of the Opera Populaire. It is time for the Phantom's song to play again!
